HS Connect Ed Message – Dec 16

Good evening.  This is Paula Husar, principal of Palmerton Area Senior High School.  I hope you are settled in and enjoying the snowfall.  On Thursday and Friday, we will be following the inclement  weather schedule that was recently posted in Schoology by Mrs. McHugh.  This schedule was also reviewed with the students by the teachers.  The schedule is labeled Inclement Weather Schedule / Two Hour Delay Schedule.  The first block will begin at 9:35 AM.  There are some students who have been told to access Schoology earlier than this start time.  If their teacher has set up an earlier time, these particular students should comply with that earlier start time.  The school day will end at 2:05 PM.  The enrichment period is a little shorter.  We did not want to completely eliminate this time as a number of students and teachers have come to rely on this time being in the schedule.  I will be updating the High School Health and Safety Plan in the near future with copies of this schedule.  

Everyone should have received their report cards by now.  If not, please reach out to your child’s guidance counselor.  Also, please know that you can view the report card online through PowerSchool.  We are almost two weeks into marking period number three.  We definitely have not gotten off to the start we would have wanted, but we have to make the best of the situation we have been dealt.  Please encourage your child to reach out to their teachers if they need assistance with any subject matter.
