MCV Vaccine – August 2nd, 2024

Hello. This is Paula Husar, principal of Palmerton Area Senior High School. If you are receiving this message, it means that the summer nurse has tried to notify you that your child needs the MCV vaccine. If we do not have something on file, your child cannot start school. This is a Pennsylvania State mandate as well as a School Board policy. (School Board policy # 203.1 is posted on the school district website.)
Please know that families will be receiving the Back to School letter in the near future with the school schedule in it. Without proof of the vaccine or proof that an appointment is scheduled or with a formal waiver on file, your son or daughter will not receive their school schedule.
As a measure of good faith, we will accept proof of an upcoming appointment for the vaccine. We are not required to do this. It is simply a good faith effort on our part.
