The Junior High School Guidance Department is student oriented. It is responsible to provide many types of support and counseling to students. The guidance department is responsible for career education, exploration, and testing. It can arrange, deliver, or plan, if necessary, group topics, group testing programs, achievement test, coordinate state testing, etc. Guidance will execute pupil referrals and be a liaison to outside agencies and specialists. Its main function is to work with the students and parents and to perform all necessary functions to enhance the Department and promote better education in the Palmerton Area School District. Persons should feel free to consult the guidance department at any time or in any situation in which guidance is concerned. It is a policy of the Palmerton Schools that disciplinary cases be referred to the Principal's Office.
